Winant and Miles are very interesting with the way they break down race. Very similar in thoughts with a few differences. Race being an ideology, something that exists because we make it come alive in our everyday practices today. The analyses included are largely based on literature that investigates race and racism filtered through the aftermath of the colonial encounter. The way these encounters shape the institutional and normative racisms and racializing practices of contemporary relevance is best interpreted by looking at the processes that make them possible.
